one-button mouse

December 12th, 2008

Earlier this year there were some changes made at my web host that disabled some of the functionality I used in iSource, my in-browser source code viewer for the iPhone.

Last night I finally had some spare time to fix things, so iSource is now back online. Give it a web page URL and it’ll give you the source code for that page right in your browser. Handy for iPhone and iPod Touch users who don’t have the View Source functionality of a desktop browser at hand.

Enjoy!

Great app, very useful but i have one suggestion that would in my opinion transform its usefulness. Generally we want to view source to learn how something was coded, as most iPhone web sites seem to redirect based on content this can only really be done on the iPhone/iTouch which your app does very well. What I would like to be able to do is to save the content or, probably easier, have an option to email a copy to myself.

Do you think you could add a simple form mailer so we could email the source code to view it off line and more importantly off of the iPhone?

    Chris.

Thanks for the suggestion Chris. That’s actually something I had been thinking about. I probably won’t do a form mailer per se, as that might be too open to abuse, but I have some other ideas in mind.
